Oguz Uyghur Cuisine is a Halal restaurant in North York serving delicious, traditional Uyghur dishes. With hearty homemade food and warm, home-like decor and furnishings, it provides an inviting and unique dining experience.

As you can see, the dining area is beautifully furnished with unique Uyghur touches, such as intricate wall tiles and traditional hats displayed along the wall, adding to the authentic and immersive experience.

They're well-known for their kebab sets, so we went with the lamb kebab. It came with a variety of sides, and the lamb itself was delicious: juicy, tender, and perfectly charred on the outside. The portion was also impressively generous.

Next, we tried the beef samsas, which are savoury pastries filled with seasoned meat. These were delicious too, with a crispy outer crust and a juicy, flavourful beef filling. Each one was roughly the size of my hand, making it another very generous portion.

We also wanted to try some of their handmade noodles, so we ordered the Special Uyghur Pasta. It reminded me of stir-fry noodles, but way better. The dish was spicy from the chilli oil, the noodles were perfectly chewy, and the beef was tender and full of flavour. We cleared the plate in about ten minutes—that’s how good it was.

We also tried the Big-Plate Chicken Noodles. While it wasn’t as standout as the Special Uyghur Pasta, I still really enjoyed it. The chicken was well-seasoned, the potatoes came in large, soft chunks, and the wide, hand-pulled noodles were chewy and satisfying.
Pricing: The total for all four dishes came to just under $100. While it’s on the pricier side, the generous portions and the amount of meat in each dish made it feel worth it.
Overall, this was a unique and enjoyable dining experience, and a fantastic option for anyone looking to try authentic Uyghur cuisine in Toronto. The large tables and large portions make it especially great for family or group gatherings. Their extensive menu includes a variety of kebabs, salads, rice dishes, noodles, and desserts, so I’d definitely love to come back and try more!
