Yunnan Noodle Shack is Toronto's first solo-dining Chinese noodle bar. Located downtown, this unique restaurant offers traditional Chinese comfort food in a cozy and quiet atmosphere. Its the perfect spot for anyone seeking a peaceful meal, especially introverts.

This beautiful entryway, adorned with a traditional Chinese decor, instantly transports you to a safe haven for enjoying a delicious and undisturbed solo dinner.

Inside, the tables are set up in individuals booths separated by wooden boards, providing plenty of privacy for solo diners. However, the boards are foldable, so you easily open them up to enjoy your meal with a couple of friends.

Each booth comes fully equipped with cutlery, napkins, chilli oil, a menu QR code, a phone holder, and a server call button. Everything is thoughtfully set up to minimize interactions for introverts. There's also a drawer at each table to store bags or any other belongings.

While waiting for your meal, you can read about the restaurant owner, the traditional cultural background that inspired the place, and the wholesome messaging of this unique business.

Each meal is served on a large platter, with the option to add extra toppings to your noodles or rice bowl. I got the garlic pork shoulder soup noodles with a side of extra veggies and bean curds. The noodles were slippery and satisfying to slurp, the meat toppings were deliciously seasoned, and the broth was rich and hearty, providing the ultimate comfort food experience.

We also got one of their dry noodle dishes, the Cold Rice Noodles, and these were amazing as well. This one came with a soup. The meat was deliciously seasoned and the cold rice noodles were perfectly refreshing and filling.
Pricing: Each meal is around $20, but cost may vary depending on the extra toppings you pick. I find it to be an affordable price, especially considering the generous, filling portions and the wonderful experience.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this unique and calm dining experience, as well as the hearty, delicious traditional Chinese noodles. This spot is perfect for introverted foodies, or really anybody seeking a comforting meal in the peaceful solitude of dining alone without judgement of other diners.
Dish of the Day: Any of their noodles (both soup and dry were so good!)
