Juicy Dumpling is a must-visit for Chinese soup dumplings in downtown Toronto. A local favourite, it's the go-to spot for comforting, delicious, and authentic dumplings. Nestled in Chinatown, surrounded by bustling asian markets, and near shopping hotspots Queen Street and the Eaton Centre, it's also a perfect stop for tourists exploring the city.

They specialize in takeout, but there are a few comfy tables and seats for dining in. Their menu features a variety of dumplings such as pork, crab, chicken, and even spinach, as well as other fun snacks and appetizers. Their menu offers tasty options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner—or even a quick mid-day snack.

Seeing the Chinese New Year decorations around the store was heartwarming, bringing back memories of celebrating at my grandmother’s house. For Chinese international students spending the holiday alone in a new city, it’s sure to be a comforting sight.

Now onto the food—which came in under five minutes. Their pork signature steamed mini soup dumplings definitely lived up to the restaurant's name. Each bite burst with rich, savoury, and flavourful broth, leaving you craving more with every dumpling.

Next, the pan-fried pork buns were just as good, featuring the same flavourful pork filling as the soup dumplings. These were further elevated by the crispy, golden crust and green onions, which added extra texture and more satisfaction with each bite.

This picture doesn’t quite capture just how juicy these dumplings are, as some of the broth spilled out after the first bite. Here’s a pro tip for eating soup dumplings: bite a small opening in the skin, sip out the rich broth (let it cool first!), then dip the dumpling in your favourite condiments and enjoy!
Pricing: Both portions were quite filling and cost around $11 total, with the signature soup dumplings at just $4.99. Pretty much everything on their menu is under $11!
One of the best things about this spot, along with its convenience, location, and taste, is its affordability, especially for downtown Toronto, offering incredible value for the price. Whether you're planning to visit Toronto soon or you're a local who hasn't been yet, I highly recommend giving this place a try—it just might become your new comfort spot in the city.
Dish of The Day: Any of their dumplings!
Thanks for reading and I'll see you next week!
